The Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero
(AFUSTA) successfully hosted the
first edition of the Gwandu Emirate Day on
Monday, 15th September, 2025, at the
University Convocation Arena.
The celebration, organized by the Gwandu
Emirate Students in collaboration with other
students, was aimed at promoting the rich
cultural heritage of the Emirate. The event
also featured the official launch of the
Gwandu Emirate Students' Calendar,
turbanning of Her Excellency wife of the
Governor as Jarumar Abdullahi Fodio
University of Science and Technology,
Alier,o alongside captivating cultural
displays and entertainment.
Distinguished personalities graced the
occasion, including the Wife of the
Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Her
Excellency Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris
(Kauran Gwandu), The Emir of Gwandu, who
was represented by the Galadiman Gwandu
Alh. Ibrahim Bashar (KKB), the Chairman of
the occasion, Senator Muhammad Adamu
Aliero, who was represented by Alh.
Abubakar Abba Aliero (Makaman
Gwandu) and Dr. Muhammad Magawata
Aliero (Sain Gwandu), as well as the District
Head of Sabiyel, Alh. Muhammadu Dodo
